Developing our fine motor skills

We have been doing lots of activities to develop our fine motor skills.  We really liked the marbles and tweezers challenge!

Numicon

P1 have been exploring the Numicon shapes and rods. 





P2 have been using the Numicon shapes to help them count accurately to 20. 

Stick Man

Over the last few weeks, alot of the learning in Class 1/2W has been based around the story of Stick Man by Julia Donaldson. 

The first thing we did was go outside to gather our own sticks. 





We then used our sticks to create pictures. 

   

    











We worked together as a big team to create a large Stick Man collage. 

Halloween

We have been very busy this week doing lots of Halloween themed work. 

On Wednesday we read the story 'Room on the Broom' by Julia Donaldson.  We were then set the challenge to design and make our own brooms.  We had to draw a plan and list the materials we needed before we started to make it. 

Here we are busy making our brooms.

We have been developing our skills on the laptops.  This week we used the paint programme to make Halloween pictures. 

We also decorated buns to make Monster Buns.  We used icing and different sweets to create a scary face. 

 

Shape

We have been exploring 2D shapes.  We went on a shape hunt around the school.  We found lots of circles, squares, rectangles and triangles.

We used shapes to make pictures.

 We also boards and bands to make 2D shapes.
